Liverpool has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign France international Bradley Barcola in a deal worth up to 123 million pounds ($166 million), a person familiar with the transaction told The Associated Press on Saturday.

The person confirmed the agreement on condition of anonymity because the transfer details have not been publicly announced.

Neither Liverpool nor PSG has officially commented on the deal.

Liverpool is set to pay 106 million pounds ($143 million) for the 23-year-old winger, with a further 17 million pounds ($23 million) available in potential add-ons.

Barcola is expected to undergo a medical examination before completing the transfer. The summer transfer window closes on Tuesday.

The move would add another major attacking signing to Liverpool’s squad. The Premier League club spent 125 million pounds ($170 million) on striker Alexander Isak and 116 million pounds ($156 million) on attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz last summer.

Barcola has been with PSG since moving from Lyon in 2023. The left winger has won consecutive Champions League titles with the French club but has largely been used as an impact substitute, with Désiré Doué generally preferred in the starting lineup.

At Liverpool, Barcola would arrive as the club looks to improve its start to the Premier League season. Liverpool has drawn both of its opening two matches 2-2, against Newcastle last weekend and Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
