PSG initially demanded £145 million, though Liverpool are pushing for a £100 million compromise.

London: Liverpool are actively pushing to secure the signature of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirming that negotiations between the two clubs remain ongoing in the final stage of the summer transfer window.
Speaking on GIVEMESPORT’s Market Madness podcast, Romano revealed that Liverpool are in daily conversations with the French champions as they seek to reach a financial agreement for the 23-year-old France international. Romano confirmed that a verbal agreement on personal terms has already been established between Liverpool and Barcola, with the player expressing a clear desire to make the switch to Anfield.
Liverpool’s strategic priority throughout the current transfer window has been to bolster their one-v-one capabilities on the flanks following the departure of Mohamed Salah. Having already onboarded Spanish winger Victor Muñoz from Osasuna, Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes has turned his primary focus to Barcola to headline the club's revised frontline.
The main obstacle in negotiations remains the transfer fee. PSG initially set an asking price of approximately £145 million (€170 million) for the young attacker, who remains under contract at the Parc des Princes until 2028. However, Liverpool are reluctant to match that figure, aiming instead for a compromise closer to the £100 million mark.
Despite the valuation gap, Romano emphasised that the deal remains very much alive, noting that PSG’s stance may soften given their own recruitment drive. The Ligue 1 side have been actively restructuring their attacking unit with prospective arrivals such as Ferran Torres and Mika Godts, which would further restrict Barcola’s guaranteed playing time in Paris.
Reports from Football365 indicate that Liverpool want the deal finalised as soon as possible as they enter the final days of the window. While PSG’s Ibrahim Mbaye has also been discussed between the clubs, Romano clarified that Barcola remains Liverpool’s supreme priority. With personal terms settled and daily dialogue ongoing between the two European titans, the Reds remain optimistic about brokering a breakthrough before the deadline.
