New Delhi: Nepal's men's cricket team is set to undertake a crucial training camp at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, India, from August 20 to September 4, 2025. This intensive preparation is a key step for their participation in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers, scheduled to be held in Oman from October 8 to 17, 2025. The main T20 World Cup tournament will then be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

This initiative is part of India's ongoing support for the growth of cricket in Nepal, viewed by the Indian government as a way to "connect the youth of the two countries through a shared passion for cricket." This isn't the first time India has extended such assistance; Nepal's men's team also trained at the Centre of Excellence in August 2024 and participated in a triangular T20 practice tournament in India in April 2024.

India's commitment to Nepali cricket was further underscored by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar's meeting with the Nepalese men's team and the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) representatives in January 2024.

Beyond the senior men's team, India has also supported Nepal's Under-19 team with a practice tournament against the Delhi & District Cricket Association team in Nepal in March 2025. Nepal's women's team also benefited from a preparation camp in Delhi in April-May 2025 for their Asia World Cup Qualifiers. Most recently, in July 2025, the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu facilitated a month-long professional training program for three promising Nepali Under-19 cricketers in Bhopal.
