Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi appeared visibly irritated during a post-match press conference in the Bangladesh Premier League while being questioned about the controversy surrounding Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Representing Noakhali Express in the BPL, Nabi made it clear that the matter was unrelated to him and shut down the questioning immediately.

The dispute arose after KKR released Mustafizur despite securing him for INR 9.20 crore in the December 2025 IPL auction, following a directive from the BCCI amid political tensions between India and Bangladesh. Mustafizur was the only Bangladeshi player selected, with KKR outbidding Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals before being forced to release him.

When asked to comment, Nabi said, “Iska merese kya lena dena bhai. Mera Mustafizur se kya kaam hai? Politics me kya kaam hai mera? I know he is a good bowler, all these things. But the way you are questioning, it's not related to me.” The controversy has also led Bangladesh to request a venue change for their T20 World Cup matches in India. (With inputs from Agencies)
