Rana, who made his international debut in Australia last year, was not initially included in the 18-member squad

Fast bowler Harshit Rana has been drafted into India’s Test squad for the forthcoming five-match series against England, with the first Test set to commence at Headingley on 20 June. The 23-year-old Delhi pacer, who was previously part of the India A squad, joined the senior team in Leeds after arriving from London.
Rana, who made his international debut in Australia last year, was not initially included in the 18-member squad. However, he recently featured in the first unofficial Test against the England Lions in Canterbury.
To date, Rana has played two Tests, five ODIs, and a solitary T20I for India.
India’s only warm-up match before the series was an intra-squad clash against India A in Beckenham. Several players, including KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, and Shardul Thakur, gained useful match practice during the encounter, having travelled to the UK alongside the India A contingent.
