Chennai: Afghanistan defeated Canada by 82 runs in a Group D T20 World Cup match on Thursday. The win was powered by an unbeaten half-century from opener Ibrahim Zadran and a brilliant bowling display by Mohammad Nabi.

Sent in to bat, Zadran scored 95 not out off 56 balls. He struck seven fours and five sixes. He shared a 95-run third-wicket partnership with Sediqullah Atal, who made 44 off 32. Afghanistan finished with a strong total of 200 for 4 in 20 overs.

In response, Canada struggled. They managed only 118 for 8 in their 20 overs. Mohammad Nabi starred with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 7 runs. Rashid Khan added 2 for 19. Afghanistan’s bowlers dominated throughout the innings.
