Odense: Ace Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen pulled off a major upset at the Denmark Open Super 750, defeating world number two and local favourite Anders Antonsen in straight games to storm into the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Sen, ranked 21st in the world, outclassed the second-seeded Dane 21-13, 21-14 in a 53-minute encounter. The 23-year-old Indian will next face the winner of the clash between China's Weng Hong Yang and France's Alex Lanier. Earlier, Sen had opened his campaign with a win over Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen.

In men’s doubles, the Indian duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also cruised into the last eight after defeating Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan of Chinese Taipei 21-19, 21-17 in a 41-minute second-round contest. The sixth-seeded pair had earlier overcome Scotland’s Christopher Grimley and Matthew Grimley in their opening round.
