
Bangkok: India won three gold medals on the second day of the Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok.
27-year-old Malayali athlete Abdulla Aboobacker won gold in the men's triple jump, clearing 16.92 metres.
Jyoti Yarraji won gold in the women's 100m hurdles, clocking 13.09 seconds.
Ajay Kumar Saroj won gold in the men's 1500m, clocking 3:41.51 seconds. The 28-year-old from Uttar Pradesh won his third medal at the Asian Athletics Championship, having previously won gold in Bhubaneswar in 2017 and silver in Doha in 2019.
India's medal tally now stands at four, with one gold, two silver and one bronze. The championship concludes on Sunday.
