UAE authorities dismiss viral claims of an IRGC strike on a Dubai Oracle data center as fake news. Stay updated with verified 2026 geopolitical news here.

Dubai: Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have firmly rejected viral claims that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted a data centre operated by Oracle Corporation in Dubai, calling the reports “fake” and without any factual basis.
In an official statement, the Dubai Media Office said circulating posts alleging an attempted or successful strike in the emirate were entirely false, urging the public to rely only on verified sources for information.
The clarification comes against the backdrop of heightened tensions between the United States and Iran, a situation that has seen a surge in online speculation and unverified claims related to military and cyber targets in the Gulf region.
The rumours appear to have originated from reports in Iranian state-linked media suggesting that the IRGC had expanded its list of potential targets to include major American technology infrastructure in the region. Among the claims was an alleged strike on an Oracle-linked facility in Dubai, an assertion now officially denied.
UAE authorities have reiterated warnings about the spread of misinformation, particularly during periods of geopolitical strain, noting that such claims can fuel unnecessary alarm and confusion.
Earlier, Iranian outlets reported that Tehran had launched a new phase of retaliatory actions through its military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, citing attacks on targets in the UAE, Bahrain and Israel.
These reports included claims of strikes on industrial and strategic assets, as well as references to technology-linked infrastructure. One such claim pointed to an Amazon cloud facility in Bahrain.
Iranian statements have also warned that several US-based technology firms, including Microsoft and Apple, could be considered potential targets if the conflict escalates further.
