San Francisco: In a landmark announcement at the White House, President Donald Trump, alongside tech leaders from OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle, introduced the Stargate project, a $500 billion initiative to develop cutting-edge AI infrastructure in the United States. The project, touted as the largest AI infrastructure investment in history, aims to create 100,000 jobs and bolster the nation's competitive edge in artificial intelligence.

The initiative will begin with an initial $100 billion investment, with plans to expand over the next four years. The first data center, a 1-million-square-foot facility, is already under construction in Texas. Stargate will focus on building the physical and virtual infrastructure required to power the next generation of AI, including advanced data centers and AI chips.
