Several people were injured and hospitalised after a stabbing incident at a factory in central Japan, according to local media reports.

Tokyo: Several people were injured after a man stabbed workers at a rubber factory in central Japan on Friday, Japanese media reported. The incident occurred in the city of Mishima in Shizuoka prefecture, located west of Tokyo.
Kyodo News agency reported that a man armed with a knife carried out the attack at the factory, leaving multiple people injured. According to local fire department officials cited by Kyodo, at least eight people were hospitalised following the stabbing.
The attacker was detained at the factory, media reports said. Authorities have not released further details about the suspect or the motive behind the attack.
Officials have also not disclosed the condition of the injured victims, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
