Iranian state media reported Sunday that an Israeli airstrike targeted a defence ministry facility in central Iran

Tehran: Iranian state media has claimed that Israel carried out a targeted strike on a defence ministry facility located in central Iran, amid ongoing hostilities between the two regional rivals.
Though the exact location of the site was not disclosed, preliminary reports suggest the facility is linked to Iran’s strategic military infrastructure.
The alleged attack follows a series of high-intensity strikes and counterstrikes that began after Israel launched a massive air assault on Iranian military and intelligence sites on Friday. Iran has responded with missile launches, and its allies, including the Houthis in Yemen, have also declared coordinated attacks on Israel.
While Iranian authorities have not yet confirmed the extent of the damage or casualties from this latest reported strike, the country's air defence systems were reportedly activated in the region. No official statement has been made by the Israeli government at the time of reporting.
This reported development marks a further escalation in what is now becoming one of the most serious military confrontations between Iran and Israel in years, with fears of wider regional fallout.
