Tehran: The US-Israel war against Iran has taken a new turn as Tehran puts diplomacy and military preparedness on the same track. Iran has sent seven conditions to the US through Qatar to restart negotiations, but alongside the talks offer, Tehran has warned it is prepared for a “decisive war” and is planning for the possibility of another US strike.

Iran has conveyed seven conditions to Washington through Qatar as part of efforts to restart negotiations aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, while Tehran has warned that it is prepared for a “decisive war” if its demands are rejected.

Iran sends conditions through Qatar

Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said Qatar had communicated Tehran’s conditions to Washington and that Iran was awaiting US President Donald Trump’s response.

Rezaei said the demands included an end to the war on all fronts, the release of frozen Iranian funds and an end to the naval blockade. He described Iran’s position as clear and said threats from Washington would not change Tehran’s stance.

Qatar and Pakistan have reportedly been involved in efforts to revive negotiations between Iran and the US following the expiry of a memorandum of understanding last month. Regional countries have also been seeking to bring the conflict to an end.

Tehran warns of further military escalation

Alongside the diplomatic message, Rezaei said Iran was preparing for the possibility of another US strike, which he described as a significant possibility based on Iranian military assessments.

He said Iran had modified its military planning following two previous rounds of fighting and was now focusing on US naval assets operating from the Gulf through the Gulf of Oman and into the Arabian Sea.

Rezaei also claimed that Iran had recently test-fired a multi-warhead anti-ship missile near a US vessel or aircraft carrier. He warned that any future Iranian response could extend to US military bases in the region, as well as American commercial interests and companies operating locally.

He said that, in practical terms, the war was still continuing, although Tehran was pursuing a strategy aimed at ending the conflict as soon as possible.

Iran's nuclear position

Rezaei said Iran had not decided to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). However, he warned that US actions could push Tehran towards such a decision.

He said Iran's nuclear doctrine remained unchanged and reiterated Tehran's position that nuclear weapons are prohibited under a religious decree.

Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb

Rezaei rejected speculation that Iran could close the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, saying control of the waterway was linked to Yemen and the Houthi movement.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he said Iran and Oman had been close to announcing an agreement before the process was shelved. According to Rezaei, the framework remains ready but could require wider regional endorsement before it is made public.

Iranian delegation receives US visas

Separately, the US State Department issued visas to an Iranian delegation travelling to New York for the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week, according to Anadolu News Agency.

The latest developments indicate that Tehran is combining diplomatic engagement with continued military preparedness. Iran's message through Qatar sets out conditions for negotiations while its security leadership is simultaneously warning of possible escalation if talks fail.

The situation also involves several interconnected issues, including frozen Iranian assets, maritime security, US military deployments in the region, the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear programme. Any negotiations would therefore have to address both the immediate conflict and wider disputes between Washington and Tehran.
