Riyadh: Yemen’s Houthi rebels stated on Wednesday that they launched a ballistic missile targeting King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, marking the latest in a series of attacks directed at the facility.

"Our armed forces have just targeted King Khalid Airport in Riyadh with a ballistic missile. The strike was accurate, by God's grace, and led to a disruption of air traffic at the airport," Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a statement released on X.

Concurrent Strike Hits Interim Capital Aden

In a separate update released via official channels, Houthi leadership confirmed executing a coordinated strike near Aden International Airport, located in Yemen's interim government capital. According to statements from the Aden Security Department's media office, two missiles landed within the airport perimeter early Wednesday morning. Although local media broadcasts showed explosions near the transport hub, security authorities reported no casualties or major infrastructure failure, with emergency crews maintaining operational status across the airfield despite the close proximity of the blasts.

Rising Hostilities Across Regional Battlefronts

The dual salvo against Riyadh and Aden follows a sharp intensification of ground combat across western and central Yemen. In response to recent Houthi advances along the Red Sea coast, Saudi-backed government troops launched a high-profile counteroffensive to secure the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the port of Mocha. As coalition forces intensify air strikes on launch sites in Sanaa and Saada, the Houthi leadership reiterated its intent to maintain long-range missile pressure against key aviation and logistics nodes until offensive operations in Yemen cease.
