Global powers back India`s cross-border strikes against terror infrastructure following the Pahalgam attack

Several major world powers and key international lawmakers have publicly backed India’s Operation Sindoor — the recent cross-border precision strikes targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Cross-border military operations between nuclear-armed neighbours like India and Pakistan typically invite immediate global appeals for de-escalation and restraint. However, the Pahalgam terror attack of 22 April, which left 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen dead, has drawn strong condemnation and bolstered India’s case for targeted counter-terrorism action.
United Kingdom: ‘There can be no impunity for terrorists’
UK Foreign Minister strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack, stating that “India is right to feel outrage at this terrible attack.” He urged Pakistan to do more to address the persistent terror threat emanating from its territory.
UK MP Rishi Sunak has supported Indian attack on terrorist infrastructure and said that no nation should have to accept terrorist attacks being launched against it from another country.
"No nation should have to accept terrorist attacks being launched against it from a land controlled by another country. India is justified in striking terrorist infrastructure. There can be no impunity for terrorists,” he said.
UK MP Priti Patel backed the attack and said that India has the right to take reasonable steps to defend itself and dismantle the vile terrorist infrastructure that threatens it.
France: ‘Full solidarity with India’
France’s Foreign Minister and the French Foreign Office condemned the Pahalgam attack in the strongest terms. In an official statement, France expressed “full solidarity with India” and affirmed its support for India’s efforts to protect itself from terrorism.
Israel: ‘No place to hide’
Israel’s Ambassador to India said that Israel supported India’s right of self-defence and said that terrorists should know there is no place to hide from their heinous crimes against the innocent.
Netherlands: Pro-India voice in Europe
Dutch MP Geert Wilders posted a message of strong support on social media, declaring “Kashmir is 100% Indian” and using the hashtag #PakistanBehindPahalgam, further reinforcing his condemnation of Pakistan’s role in harbouring terrorist elements.
United States: ‘India has the right to defend its people’
In a statement from Washington, US Congressman Shri Thanedar said, “Terrorism cannot be tolerated and it cannot go unpunished. India has the right to defend its people.” He expressed firm solidarity with India’s ongoing efforts to dismantle extremist networks operating across the border.
Panama: Support from the UN Security Council
Even Panama, currently a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, extended its diplomatic support. Its Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “The Republic of Panama stands with India in this tragic loss and in the ongoing fight against terrorism.”
