Trump is amplifying buzz around first lady Melania Trump’s documentary, which charts her 20-day lead-up to the 2025 inauguration and releases this week on Amazon Prime.

President Donald Trump has taken to social media to spotlight the forthcoming documentary centred on first lady Melania Trump, urging supporters to secure tickets ahead of its release later this week.
In a post shared on X on 26 January, he wrote: "MELANIA, the Movie, is a MUST WATCH. Get your tickets today – Selling out, FAST!"
Amazon is set to distribute the feature-length film, titled ‘Melania’, which traces the 20 days leading up to Trump’s 2025 inauguration as viewed through the first lady’s perspective. The project marks the first release from Melania Trump’s production company, Muse Films, announced in November.
The documentary, directed by Brett Ratner – best known for the ‘Rush Hour’ series and previously accused of sexual misconduct in 2017, allegations that did not result in criminal charges – will debut simultaneously in cinemas and on Amazon Prime on 30 January.
A major premiere is scheduled the day before the public launch at the recently renamed Trump–Kennedy Center in Washington, on 29 January. The first lady also hosted a private screening at the White House on 24 January.
White House preview draws high-profile attendees
A special preview on Saturday brought together around 70 invited guests for a screening held in a temporary theatre inside the White House, erected due to continuing renovations in the ballroom. According to The Hollywood Reporter, attendees included Amazon chief executive Andy Jassy, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Queen Rania of Jordan and former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson.
Amazon has reportedly allocated a £28m marketing budget for the documentary, elements of which were on display at the event.
Guests left with an assortment of themed merchandise, ranging from framed screening tickets and limited-edition copies of Melania Trump’s book to black-and-white branded popcorn boxes and cookies. The monochrome motif extended across refreshments, including M&Ms, macarons, chocolate-covered pretzels and a central arrangement of white cake pops.
Musical theme and atmosphere
Arriving guests were welcomed by a full military band performing Melania’s Waltz, the film’s signature score composed by Tony Neiman. Neiman’s previous work includes several episodes of ‘Top Chef’ and the 2020 Russian sci-fi action film ‘Cosmoball’.
The documentary reportedly carries a production budget of around £31m.
Anticipation ahead of official premiere
While details of Thursday’s red-carpet launch remain undisclosed, interest is building around how the event may expand on the stark black-and-white aesthetic showcased at the White House screening.
Tickets for participating theatres are now available, with Trump linking to purchase details in his social media post.
