A car crashed through the entrance of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport on Friday evening, slamming into a ticket counter and injuring six people, airport authorities said.

The Wayne County Airport Authority confirmed that the driver has been taken into custody. The cause of the crash is not yet known, and airport police have launched an investigation.

Emergency responders from the WCAA Fire Department treated six people at the scene. There was no immediate word on the severity of their injuries.

Videos circulating on social media showed a blue four-door sedan stopped inside the terminal near Delta Air Lines counters, with its hood and trunk open. Glass shards and debris were scattered across the entrance area, while police tape sealed off the affected section of the departure lobby.

Officials have not released the driver’s identity, and airport operations continued with minor disruptions as authorities cleared the area.
