New Delhi: The Dalai Lama was discharged from Indraprastha Apollo Hospital here on Friday after successfully undergoing a left knee replacement surgery earlier this week, according to a medical update shared on his official X account.
Dr Rajesh Malhotra, Senior Consultant at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, said the Tibetan spiritual leader underwent the surgery in New Delhi on June 8 and remained stable throughout his treatment.
"His Holiness is stable and expected to make a full recovery. He was discharged on Friday morning," Malhotra said in the statement posted on the Dalai Lama's X account.
He added that the Dalai Lama's personal medical team and the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama remained in close coordination with the hospital's administrative and medical staff during the treatment. PTI
