Alappuzha: Statements of Chief Minister’s gunman Anil Kumar and security officer Sandeep were recorded by the Crime Branch in the controversial case of 
thrashing of protesting Youth Congress and KSU leaders by the duo during the Nava Kerala Yatra in December last.

The Alappuzha Crime Branch DySP went to Thiruvananthapuram to collect their statements. The statements were recorded secretly before the Lok Sabha elections. 
 
It is learned that both of them stated that they were doing their duty of providing security to the Chief Minister. 

Both Anil Kumar and Sandeep refused to appear before the investigation agency even after receiving several notices for the same.
