Thrissur: In a tragic incident, a native of Velur here has died in Dubai. Issac Paul Olakkengil (29), from Naduvilangadi, passed away during a scuba diving session at Jumeirah Beach. Initial reports indicate that Isaac suffered a heart attack caused by oxygen deprivation. His wife and brother Ivan were also present at the time. Ivan sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment in hospital.

All three had received training in a swimming pool prior to the scuba diving session.

Isaac was the son of Paul and Sheeja from Naduvilangadi. He was working in the engineering division of a Dubai-based firm. His wife Reshma is also an engineer. The family had gone to Jumeirah Beach for scuba diving to celebrate the Bakrid holiday. The body, currently kept in the mortuary, will be repatriated to India soon.
