Kochi: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming an indispensable part of daily life. In this context, Kerala is showcasing its capability as a hub for AI-driven technological development, thanks to Labby George, an American-Malayali entrepreneur with family roots in Kochi. For over 30 years, Labby George’s US-based technology services company, 'Torcue Digital’, has been instrumental in highlighting Kerala’s excellence in AI advancements.

Torcue’s ‘Dispatch AI’ secured first place in the Best of AI category at the Google Maps Platform Awards, underscoring this achievement. Founded in Florida in 2016 by Labby George, the company’s key development centre is located in Kochi. This development centre played a crucial role in winning the Google Maps Platform Award.

Dispatch AI is an AI assistant that streamlines last-mile delivery in the logistics sector. Its excellence lies in understanding common challenges faced by delivery drivers — such as traffic congestion and customer unavailability — and making real-time adjustments, which earned it recognition from Google Maps.

Dispatch AI won the award ahead of leading geospatial companies and top educational institutions like the University of Texas. Currently, the company is preparing to expand operations into North American and European markets, where logistics costs are highest. Labby George also announced plans to launch the ‘Torcue AI Fellowship Program’ within a year to benefit engineering students in Kerala.
