Riyadh: Abdul Rahim, a man hailing from Kozhikode in Kerala and currently imprisoned in Saudi Arabia, is expected to be released within the next ten days.
The final stages of his release proceedings are underway, with all necessary documentation having been completed. Rahim will receive an out pass allowing him to return home directly from prison.
Rahim has been detained in Saudi Arabia in connection with a death penalty case involving the accidental death of a Saudi boy. The release order is now in the hands of the prison authorities after completing all required procedures, including approvals from the governorate, public prosecution, and court.
A support committee in Riyadh, in coordination with the embassy and local lawyers, has been instrumental in facilitating Rahim’s release. Once freed, Rahim will be transported directly from prison to the airport for his return to Kozhikode.
