
Kottayam: The family of Stephin Abraham, a Pampady native who tragically lost his life in the Kuwait fire tragedy, has received financial assistance, including a government grant.
Minister for Ports and Cooperation and Minister for Devaswoms, V.N. Vasavan, personally visited Stephin’s residence to hand over the aid to his parents, Sabu Abraham and Shirley Sabu.
The financial aid comprised a government grant of Rs 5 lakh, a contribution of Rs 5 lakh from businessman M.A. Yusuff Ali, Rs 2 lakh from the Federation of Kerala Associations in North America (FOKANA), and another Rs 2 lakh from businessman B. Ravi Pillai.
District Collector V. Vigneshwari, District Information Officer A. Arun Kumar, NORKA Roots Centre Manager K.R. Rajish, Tehsildar Satheesan K.S., and Deputy Tehsildar Rajeev were also present.
