Kochi: The hike in price of petroleum products in the state touched a new high with one litre of petrol seeing an increase of 26 paise and diesel by 8 paise on Thursday. With this, petrol price touched Rs 100 for a litre. In Parasala petrol price was at Rs 100.04.

Petrol price in Thiruvananthapuram was at Rs 99.80 and in Kochi it was Rs 97.98. Diesel price in Thiruvananthapuram was at Rs 95.62 and in Kochi at Rs 94.79. Fuel prices have increased for the 12th time within 22 days.

On Monday, a motor strike was called by the Joint Action Committee of Trade Unions to protest against the hike in price of petroleum products by oil majors.
