LuLu Group has strengthened its presence in one of Saudi Arabia's holiest cities with the opening of its biggest hypermarket in Madinah, strategically located near the Haramain Train Station.
The new store is LuLu's second in Madinah and takes the retailer's total network in Saudi Arabia to 79 stores. The expansion is aimed at serving the city's residents, visitors and pilgrims, who travel to Madinah throughout the year.
Located on King Khalid Road in Madinah Al-Munawwarah, near the Haramain Train Station, the hypermarket spans approximately 95,648 square feet across two floors.
The store was inaugurated by Fahad Alyan Al-Mughir, Chairman of the Board of the Madinah Chamber of Commerce, in the presence of Ahmed Bakr Zaidan, Secretary General of the Madinah Chamber of Commerce, and Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of LuLu Group, along with other dignitaries and senior officials.
The latest opening further expands LuLu's retail network in a city that receives millions of visitors and pilgrims. The Group also operates four stores within the Holy Sites, providing access to essential products during the Hajj season.
The new Madinah hypermarket offers fresh food, groceries and daily essentials, along with home products, electronics and mobile accessories. It also has parking facilities for shoppers.
Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of LuLu Group, said the expansion reflects the company's focus on improving shopping access for people visiting and living in the holy city.
“This expansion reflects our commitment to providing convenient shopping experiences for pilgrims, residents and visitors, while supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. Our continued expansion in the Kingdom will also create more employment opportunities and contribute to the development of local economy,” he said.
Yusuffali also expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Saudi Arabian government for their continued support.
Saifee Rupawala, CEO of LuLu; Ashraf Ali M.A., Executive Director of LuLu; Mohammed Harris, Director of LuLu Saudi Arabia, and other senior officials were also present at the inauguration.
