The Government of West Bengal has introduced the Annapurna Yojana under the Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare to provide financial assistance to eligible women beneficiaries.

Under the scheme, beneficiaries will receive Rs 3,000 every month through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The amount will be directly credited to the Aadhaar-linked bank account of the beneficiary.

As applications under the scheme continue to rise, many beneficiaries are trying to confirm whether their Aadhaar number has been successfully linked with their bank account.

Without proper Aadhaar-bank linking, beneficiaries may face delays in receiving DBT payments under the Annapurna Bhandar scheme.

What is DBT linking?

DBT or Direct Benefit Transfer is a government payment system through which welfare benefits are transferred directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries.

For the Annapurna Yojana, applicants must ensure that their Aadhaar number is correctly seeded with their bank account and updated in the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) database.

Applicants usually require the following documents and details to complete the process:

  • Aadhaar card number
  • Bank account details
  • Mobile number linked with Aadhaar

If Aadhaar is not linked properly with the bank account, the monthly assistance amount may not be credited successfully.

How to check Aadhaar-bank linking status online

Beneficiaries can verify their Aadhaar-bank linking status through the official NPCI portal. The process can be completed online in a few simple steps:

  1. Visit the official NPCI website
  2. Open the “Customer” section on the homepage
  3. Select the “Bharat Aadhaar Seeding Enabler (BASE)” option
  4. Enter Aadhaar number and required bank details
  5. Complete OTP verification using the Aadhaar-linked mobile number
  6. Submit the details to check the Aadhaar-bank linking status

Once the verification process is completed, users will be able to see whether their Aadhaar number is active and linked with the bank account for DBT services.

If the status appears inactive or unavailable, applicants may have to contact their bank branch or use online banking services to update Aadhaar seeding again.

The state government has advised beneficiaries to regularly verify their DBT status to ensure smooth transfer of financial assistance under the Annapurna Yojana.
