The problem of lack of skilled labour for specific aviation tasks has been haunting the industry for decades now. This problem will soon become chronic as more and more new aircraft take to the skies in India. Besides, newer airlines come by coupled with rising passenger traffic. To create a sound base of solid workforce, Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) has partnered with Government of Odisha to provide skill development training to the state youth especially in aviation sector.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is signed between AISATS and Directorate of Skill Development and Employment (DSDE) with an aim to provide aviation training opportunities for aspiring professionals from Odisha.

As a part of the agreement, AISATS will facilitate a rigorous 30-day training program for candidates from Odisha at its established Training Academy in Hyderabad. The program will infuse skills like ramp handling and customer service within airport operations.
Admission to the program requires meeting specific educational prerequisites to qualify for the AISATS Training Academy and to undertake training for these specialized roles.
Marking a significant milestone in AISATS ongoing commitment to fostering indigenous talent and contributing to the advancement of India's aviation sector Sanjay Gupta, chief executive, AISATS says: "By providing access to our state-of-the-art training academy in Hyderabad and offering immediate employment opportunities, we aim to cultivate a highly skilled workforce that will be instrumental in shaping the future of airport operations across India."
On the completion of the training module, the candidates will earn a 'Certificate in Ground Handling and Airport Operations' along with a placement at one of AISATS' six operational stations throughout India.
This module offers structured pathway for aviation enthusiasts to enter the industry and also ensures consistent supply of qualified professionals to the ever-increasing demand in the aviation sector.
