The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) has filed a police complaint against YouTuber Sanju, hailing from Kalavoor, for constructing a swimming pool inside his functioning car. The complaint seeks charges under the IT Act, alleging illegal activity and its propagation, which could mislead youth.
Sanju's car, previously seized by the MVD, has now been handed over to the police. Sanju was summoned by the MVD on Saturday as well for questioning, and his statement was recorded. The MVD will submit the report, along with his statement, to the High Court on Monday.
The MVD is treating the matter seriously following the High Court's intervention. The office of the minister and the motor vehicle commissioner have directed the MVD to take stringent action.
The registration of Sanju's car, which violated regulations, was revoked by the MVD. The driving licence of Sanju's friend, who operated the vehicle, had also been suspended.
Sanju's reposting of the video, trivialising and mocking these actions and regulations, caused the authorities to take further action. The MVD has assigned a special team to investigate all road rule violations committed by Sanju and will submit their findings to the court.
