Kasaragod: Muslim Youth League district secretary and district panchayat member Golden Rahman (34) has been arrested for allegedly attacking policemen.

Manjeshwar sub-inspector (SI) P Anoop and other officers were attacked by a group near Hidayat Nagar, Uppala, on Sunday during night patrolling.

A gang of five individuals who had gathered on the roadside attacked police when they enquired about them during patrolling, said police. They threw stones at the SI, who suffered a fracture in the right hand. Civil Police Officer Kishore was also injured, said police.

In addition to Golden Rahman, two other individuals from Uppala, Rasheed and Afzal, are also accused in the case. Rahman was presented before the court after a medical examination and has been remanded.
