Youth kills himself after shooting BDS student in Kothamangalam

The incident happened near the Nellikunnu dental college.

Kothamangalam: In a shocking incident, a girl student of a dental college in Kothamangalam was shot dead at her residence near the college on Friday. The accused shot himself to death after killing her. The deceased are identified as Kannur natives Manasa (24) and Rakhil. Manasa, a student of Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental College was doing house surgency. According to reports, it was just two months back she had come from Kannur after Covid-19 outbreak.

According to the available information, the incident took place at the house where Manasa was living with her two friends. When Rakhil reached the house, he asked her friends about Manasa and went upstairs to meet her. Reportedly, there was a quarrel between the duo and when her friends rushed upstairs she was found in a pool of blood.

The accused came from Kannur and more information about him is yet to come. Allegedly, Manasa was tortured by Rakhil earlier too and her father had complained against him at a police station in Kannur.

The bodies have been kept at Mar Baselios Hospital in Kothamangalam. Kothamangalam police have registered a case and started investigation.
