Kasaragod, Kerala: A youth was allegedly kidnapped in broad daylight in Kasaragod town on Wednesday afternoon, triggering a police manhunt across state borders.
According to the complaint, the incident happened near the Udupi hotel in the town, where the youth was forcibly taken away in a car. Eyewitnesses said four people were inside the vehicle at the time of the abduction.
Police said the accused used a car with Andhra Pradesh registration. CCTV visuals of the vehicle have been released, and the registration number has been identified as AP40 EU 1277.
An investigation has been launched focusing on inter-state movement, with police intensifying checks along the state border. The authorities are also coordinating with the Karnataka Police, considering the possibility that the suspects may have fled towards Mangaluru.
Further investigation is underway.
