Malappuram: A person who circulated morphed pictures of school teachers on Instagram has been arrested. A Kottappadi native, Binoy (26) was arrested in relation to the case. He circulated the pictures from a fake Instagram profile under the name of the Headmistress of the school. He allegedly created morphed pictures by using the photos posted by the teachers on social media.

Malappuram cyber police have recovered hundreds of pornographic and morphed pictures downloaded from the internet on his mobile phone and laptop. The accused admitted to the police that the crime was intended on defaming the teachers through fake account and increasing the number of people following this account. He has garnered about 2000 followers on his fake account.

The investigation was led by Malappuram DySP Abdul Basheer and cyber police station inspector A.J Arun. Cyber police station SI Abdul Latheef, ASI Riyas Babu, Senior Civil police officer Ashok Kumar, Mohammed Shafi were also part of the team. Binoy will be presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate on Wednesday.
