Kochi: Three persons were killed in an road accident that took place at Mekkadambu near Muvattupuzha here. The deceased were identified as Valakam natives Nidhin Babu, Ashwin Joy and Mekkadambu native Basil George. Basil had acted as the lead character of the movie 'Poovalliyum Kunjadum'.
The incident took place on Sunday by 9 at night. A Swift Dezire car that was going to Muvattupuzha from Kolencherry area was involved in the accident at Mekkadambu. The vehicle lost control and rammed into the building in which migrant workers were staying.
All three deceased were travelling in the car. The car is owned by Valakam native Babu who is the owner of Sneha Decorations. Three migrant workers sustained injuries in the accident. They are identified as Remon Shiekh, Amar Beeran and Sagar Selvakumar.
The injured were admitted to Kolencherry Medical Mission Hospital. Fire force, police and locals took part in the rescue mission. The car was completely damaged in the accident.
