Thalassery (Kerala): Eight senior students have been suspended following the assault of a Plus One student at the Chirakkara Vocational Higher Secondary School. The junior student was reportedly ganged up on and beaten by the seniors because the buttons on his shirt were left undone.

Following the incident, a meeting of teachers and parents was convened on Wednesday, where the decision to suspend the eight students was finalised.

The victim sustained injuries to his ribs during the assault. The police registered a case after the student sought medical treatment at a hospital, following which the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) decided to enforce the suspensions.
