Kozhikode: Kozhikode District Session Court granted anticipatory bail to writer Civic Chandran over a sexual assault case registered by Koyilandy Police. The case was registered over a complaint filed by a young writer.

According to the complainant, Civic Chandran sexually assaulted her while attending a poetry camp near the Nandi beach in Kozhikode. The incident happened in 2020. A complaint was filed against the writer when the first case against him made headlines

Earlier, the writer obtained anticipatory bail in another sexual assault case in Kozhikode.

The first case was registered on a complaint lodged by a young writer who accused the veteran writer of sexually assaulting her when she was in Kozhikode to attend a book launch. Civic Chandran absconded soon after Koyilandy police registered a case against him.
