Nadapuram: A women’s group comprising the alumni of Nadapuram TIM Girls Higher Secondary School are now on cloud nine as they could execute a virtuous endeavour collectively.
Through crowdfunding, women from the 2002 tenth standard batch of TIMS school married off a girl from a poor family and helped to complete the construction of her house.
The women came forward to conduct the marriage of a girl at Koothali in Perambra. They supported the family to complete the construction of her house, which was only partially built. Along with taking care of the expenses of the marriage, the women gifted ten sovereigns of gold to the bride.
The reunion of this batch had been conducted only two weeks ago. The women who arrived at the school came to know about the girl through their teacher CT Mohammed, who elaborated them about the girl’s financial condition under par.
After visiting the girls’ house, the women decided to support the family for marriage and requested financial aid via WhatsApp. With the better responses receiving day after day, they could achieve the target of Rs 10 lakh within one week. The team also donated a water cooler to school for the use of students.
