Viji, lorry and bus met with accident
Kondotty: A woman was killed in an accident when a private bus hit a lorry on the bypass road in Kozhikode. Over 20 passengers sustained injuries in the accident. The deceased was C Viji (26), who was a nursing officer at Govt Medical College in Kozhikode. She is daughter of Krishnan Kuniyil, state secretary of the Welfare party.
The tragic incident happened on the birthday of Viji on Wednesday at around 6 am near a petrol pump on the bypass. Her family had planned for a party as it was her first birthday after marriage which was just four months ago. The bus from Manjeri to Kozhikode was hit by the lorry approaching from Malappuram. Viji was inside the bus and sustained grievous injuries. Though Viji was taken to a private hospital in Kondotty, she could not be saved. Viji was heading for work early morning. She is survived by her husband Sujeesh.
