The family has lodged a complaint with the Aranmula police, accusing the hospital of negligence.

Pathanamthitta, Kerala: A woman who underwent two surgeries within a week at a private hospital in Kozhencherry died on Sunday, with her family alleging medical negligence.
The deceased has been identified as Maya, a resident of Angamoozhy. She was admitted for the removal of a growth in her uterus and underwent the first surgery on November 17. According to relatives, she reportedly experienced persistent breathing difficulties following the operation.
A subsequent scan allegedly revealed an injury to the intestine caused during the first procedure, they claimed. Maya was taken for a second surgery on Saturday afternoon (November 22), which concluded around 8 pm. Hospital authorities informed the family that she was placed on ventilator support after the procedure. However, she died around 4 am on Sunday.
The family has lodged a complaint with the Aranmula police, accusing the hospital of negligence. Maya’s husband, Raju, is the UDF candidate from Angamoozhy ward in the Shirathod grama panchayat.
Hospital authorities denied negligence, stating that the patient had gone through severe complications and that the family was informed about every development. The second surgery was conducted due to an emergency situation, the PRO said, adding that the management would cooperate with the investigation.
