
Thiruvananthapuram: The woman who raised sexual harassment allegations against director Balachandra Kumar has filed a complaint with the DGP against the police for not arresting the director. The woman alleged in her complaint that the police and Balachandra Kumar are conspiring and trying to sabotage the case. The woman arrived at the police headquarters to hand over the complaint to the DGP.
The complainant, a woman hailing from Kannur, had stated in the complaint that director Balachandra Kumar assaulted her sexually after promising her a job around 10 years back. She also alleged that she was invited to a music composer’s house by Balachandra Kumar on the pretext of offering her a job, assaulted by him and its visuals were recorded using hidden cameras. She also claimed that she was later on threatened using those visuals. The police had filed a case against Balachandra Kumar over this complaint.
Balachandra Kumar's plea for anticipatory bail was not considered by the court. The complainant also alleged that she is still receiving threats from the director and that there is pressure on her to back off from the case.
