Kozhikode: A housewife tried to commit suicide in Kuttiyadi after being threatened by online loan app agents. The 24-year-old woman and mother of two is currently undergoing treatment at Kozhikode medical college hospital.

Reports said that the woman borrowed Rs 2000 from an online loan app and repaid almost Rs 1 lakh in return. Yet, the woman kept getting threats from the loan app demanding more money. They allegedly threatened her by saying that her morphed images would be shared. This is when the woman attempted to end her life.

About a month ago, the woman received a message on her phone offering loan. There was a link to a loan app attached to the message. The woman downloaded the app and borrowed Rs 2000. As the demands for money continued even after the woman paid almost Rs 1 lakh in return, she said she wouldn’t make any more payments. This is when the threats that led to the woman taking this extreme step began.
