Thiruvananthapuram: K. Gopalakrishnan, IAS, has denied any involvement in the creation of a controversial WhatsApp group for Hindu IAS officers, which has come under scrutiny. The group, reportedly named "Mallu Hindu Officers," was established with Gopalakrishnan as the admin and included both senior and junior IAS officials in Kerala.
According to reports, the group was created to share Diwali greetings. However, some IAS officers expressed concerns about the appropriateness of forming such a group, especially due to its religious connotation. Following the ensuing controversy, the group was deleted within hours.
Gopalakrishnan subsequently lodged a complaint with the Cyber Cell, alleging that the WhatsApp account had been hacked. He also sent a message to the group members claiming that a hacking incident had occurred and denied any involvement.
