He said there was no objection to arresting those who committed offences. If the owner of a media organisation has committed a wrongdoing, action should be taken

Alappuzha: CPM General Secretary MA Baby said the party is making efforts to bring back those who have left the CPM. However, he said those who contested against the party during elections are a different matter. If they reconsider their stand, acknowledge their mistake and express interest in returning, the party will consider the matter at that time, he said.
There have been instances of people who left the party later realising that their decision was wrong, returning and cooperating with the party. KR Gouri Amma cooperating with the party towards the end of her life and MV Raghavan returning and cooperating after leaving the party are examples of this, Baby said. As part of expanding its activities, the party is also seeking to create new groups of sympathisers, he added.
Baby also said the raid at Reporter TV was not right and that if there is a case related to the Messi controversy, it should be investigated separately. He said there was no objection to arresting those who committed offences. If the owner of a media organisation has committed a wrongdoing, action should be taken. But using that as a pretext to target a media organisation is not right, he said.
The media should collectively oppose such actions, Baby added. A media organisation should not be targeted by exploiting any loophole, he said.
