Kollam: A verbal spat over overtaking at Puthoor here on Monday morning escalated to a street fight, injuring a policeman and his family. The visuals of the incident have surfaced and the same is getting shared on social media. According to reports a police official, his wife and his son were injured in the scuffle.

The incident happened around 9:00 AM on Monday at the junction here. Kundara Special Branch SI Sugunan and his family were travelling in a car.

Two youngsters on a bike chased the car and blocked their way. When the car was stopped, the youngsters questioned them for overtaking them.

The arguments escalated as the cop’s son Amal raged against them. It ended in a street fight between the two groups.

In the visuals that surfaced on social media, it can be seen that the youngsters are attacking the cop and his family with helmets. The cop’s wife Priya and son Amal fell down during the attack. 
Police have taken the youngsters into custody over the incident.
