Kakkanad: Rapper Vedan (Hirandas Murali) was formally arrested and released in the case of allegedly sexually assaulting a woman doctor under the pretext of marriage. The Thrikkakara police recorded the arrest after hours of questioning.

The court had already granted him anticipatory bail. On Tuesday morning, around 9.30 am, Vedan appeared before the special investigation team along with his lawyer. The interrogation lasted until 4 pm. The questioning was in connection with the case registered by the Thrikkakara Police.

Interrogation will continue on Wednesday as well. Vedan reportedly told the police that his relationship with the complainant was consensual and that differences later led to the allegation of rape.
