
Cherthala: Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, the chief minister and newly elected ministers visited Vayalar martyrs' column and paid floral tribute on Thursday morning. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the ministers of CPM and CPI arrived at the martyrs' column by 9 in the morning.
Pinarayi Vijayan places a wreath over the martyrs' column while the party workers shouted slogans. After him, the newly elected ministers, Speaker, LDF convener and other prominent leaders also paid floral tribute.
The ceremony was completed within 10 minutes and public event was avoided. Party workers were directed not to visit the place in view of Covid surge. Only selected LDF leaders and media persons were allowed to participate in the event.
Following this, the ministers went to the burial ground in Alappuzha to pay homage to the martyrs. After this, they will set off to Thiruvananthapuram for swearing-in ceremony.
