Kochi: Renowned poet and critic V Madhusoodanan Nair has been selected for Balamani Amma Award, instituted by Kochi International Book Festival Committee. The award includes Rs 50,000 and a citation.
“I don’t know if I deserve this award or not. But, it feels like powerful breast milk to me. I pay my respects to the great Balamani Amma. I hope the award will give me the power to worship letters,” responded Madhusoodanan Nair.
“Balamani Amma has been a mother to people like me since childhood. She has treated all children as her own,” he added.
