Kozhikode: The Islamic socio-religious organisation Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen (KNM) has expressed confidence in CPM’s stand on Uniform Civil Code (UCC). KNM state president T P Abdulla Koya Madani said there is nothing doubtful about CPM organising seminars against UCC.
“Every political institution will have new interpretations and reconsiderations. No one would have to question them. Based on time and context, institutions embrace change. A previously held stance, based on the circumstances at that time, should not dismantle an inevitable unity that exists now,” he elaborated. Madani’s remarks comes at a time when rivals are accusing CPM of rerouting from its earlier stand on UCC.
Interestingly, he also noted that it would have been better if protest against UCC is carried out in a united manner by incorporating all including Congress.
However, he pointed out that Muslim organisations never heed the decisions of political parties.
KNM has already decided to attend CPM’s seminar against UCC.
