
Kasaragod: A portion of a bridge under construction on the National Highway 66 collapsed in Periya town here in the wee hours of Saturday.
The accident happened while concrete work was in progress. However, no one was injured in the mishap.

It is assumed that the poor concrete support led to the accident. Natives say they have complained about the poor quality of work to the district collector. The National Highway Authority of India said they are looking into the matter. Megha Constructions is undertaking the work here.
