Thrissur: The UDF rebel candidate at the Thrissur Corporation has extended support to the LDF. MK Varghese on Thursday announced that he will cooperate with the Left wing.

As per reports, the LDF has offered the mayor post to Varghese. He said that all matters have been discussed and that LDF expressed willingness for any adjustment.

Out of the 54 divisions, LDF won 24 seats and became the single-largest party. UDF won 23 seats and NDA in 6 seats. As the margin is very close, the Congress rebel candidate would be deciding the winner. Also, the bypoll to the Pullazhi division will be crucial.

In 2015, LDF had won 25 divisions. Later, two independent candidates had extended support to the front. With this, LDF ruled the corporation. UDF had won 22 divisions back then.
