Vypin (Kochi): Two more casualties have been reported in the drowning accident at Puthuvype Beach. The deceased have been identified as Milan (20) and Alwin (20), who succumbed while undergoing treatment at Ernakulam Medical Trust Hospital. The first victim. The group, consisting of seven persons, had arrived at the beach on Sunday morning. Despite warnings from experienced swimmers conducting training in the area, all but one member of the group went into the water. Ignoring the warnings, they proceeded towards the northern part of the beach, eventually finding themselves near the west wall of the IOC gas plant, where they were swept away in the strong waves.

Rescue efforts were carried out by the members of the Vypin Beach Club and the Dolphin Club, who were conducting swimming training nearby. Milan and Alwin were rescued and brought to the shore, but Abhishek was found in a weak state. Despite efforts to save him, Abhishek was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
